Excellence is not achieved by mere rhetoric but it is a virtue that comes from hard work, determination and captures the life of Basilia Nkemdilim Igbokwe, PhD and her journey to the exalted position she is presently occupying as Rector of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, a prided institution that enjoys global rating as "first among equals" in Nigeria.

Born after the war to the family of Late Maduka of Awo-Idemili in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State, Dr. Igbokwe's journey is a testament to her commitment to excellence and an unwavering dedication to knowledge. She attended primary and secondary schools in Imo State where she laid the foundation for her stellar academic pursuits.
